DESCRIPTION:
This classic text has been completely revised and updated to reflect the latest advances in orthopaedic biomechanics, and the successful application of mechanical laws to the locomotor system of the human body. The Second Edition features new chapters on cell-matrix interactions in articular cartilage and on the quantitative anatomy of diarthrodial joints, as well as expanded coverage of the biomechanics of artificial hip and knee joints.
Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery -- Praise for the First Edition (1991):"This text is the work of sixteen authors, many of whom have been in the forefront of orthopaedic biomechanics for two decades. The well known and equally experienced editors have merged the individual contributions into what they promise to be a text on biomechanics suitable for 'senior level engineering students' and 'orthopaedic residents, with a basic engineering background.' What is delivered, however, is actually more than is promised. While the text is clearly geared for the student who has a technical background, much of the material is presented at
Excellent ! Abbasi The book looks as good as new ! As far as the content goes, well, a few chapters don't seem to emerge from the preceding ones which sometimes can be a void space for no reason.
