Still wrapped in plastic! T. Savant The book arrived quickly, still in its protective plastic wrap! And the price for it was cheaper than some of the other online sites' used books!. A Customer said The best book about clinical midwifery on the planet!. I've been a Certified Nurse-Midwife and educator for 18 years. I have used all of Helen Varney's midwifery textbooks (including this one)for myself and my students. Varney's Midwifery is thourough, clear, well written and easy for professional and lay man to read and understand. I especially appreciate her attention to details. I used the chapter on "Maternal Psychological Adjustments and Procesesses" as the sole basis for an oral final exam because I wanted my students to focus on the psychological aspects of pregnancy (not j. Scientific Midwifery explored,but lacks Midwifery's spirit! A Customer I am currently a student CNM and have found Varney's to offer a great insight to the scientific end of Midwifery. However, I feel that Ms. Varney neglects the beautiful and spiritual side of providing Midwifery care. Although I found her text to be comprehensive in certain aspects of theory and rationale of Nurse-Midwifery I was disappointed that such a classic Midwifery text would leave out the wholistic focus of Midwifery. It is a book I refer to often, but I place it alongside my William's Obstetrics and Gabbe's text. I was
