"Great. And portentous." according to DM. The sad reality about this gem of a book written in the late 80's about the ravages of the Reagan economic policies most poignantly underscored by the voodoo of the Laffer Curve which tried to make the absurd claim that massive tax cuts would actually INCREASE government revenue (didn't happen), the largest tax cut in US history, the manufactured recession caused by Reagan's Fed Chariman Paul Volcker which coincided with Reagan's firing of the PATCO striking workers, which led to mass unemployment and the decimation in union enrollment and the American Lab. Worth Reading As relevant today as it was when it was written.. Nice, really nice. Where are we now????? yep looks like management is making the best decision in the direction this country is headed. Man, look at the cities, the schools in our cities, cost of getting an education, roads and bridges, on going wars, and overall health of the country.and now this nation is headed in the direction of the lowest common denominator faster than grease lighting.

This devastating critique by the authors of The Deindustrialization of America documents how the economic policies of the Reagan era have damaged the American standard of living and suggests how this trend may be reversed.
