DESCRIPTION:
Elaine C. said Good book and easy to follow the information. This was a helpful aid to a student. Good book and easy to follow the information. It was very helpful.. Does the job if you are willing to work at it. If you just read this, you will at least get a better idea of whats going on inside all those boxes around your housethat plug into the wall. If take the time to read and absorb the material you will be even more rewarded. But best of all, you should actually at least build the power supply that the author uses as a teaching tool. Even if you never build anything else, you will a lot more by doing this. Be warned, it is not like a kit where you just put all the pieces together. You will have a couple of problems to solve and most likely have to do some minor innovations.. "The Best" according to Tommy M. Carver. This is THE BEST book I have ever read in elementary electronics, and I have read many. It does not overload the beginner with complex circuit analysis, and yet is in-depth enough for an entry level electronics technician. After studying this book, you will be well prepared to take on more advanced studies. The range of topics is excellent, written in an easy to digest style, and the projects help seal the facts in your mind. I highly recommend to the beginner.
You'll also find 25 complete projects that enhance your electricity/electronics mastery, including 15 new to this edition, and appendices packed with commonly used equations, symbols, and supply sources.. Randy Slone's learn-as-you-go guide tells you how to put together a low-cost workbench and start a parts and materials inventory--including money-saving how-to's for salvaging components and buying from surplus dealers. For the true beginner, there's no better introduction to electricity and electronics than TAB Electronics Guide to Understanding Electricity and Electronics , Second Edition. You get plain-English explanations of electronic components-resistors, potentiometers, rheostats, and resistive characteristics-voltage, current, resistance, ac and dc, conductance, powerthe laws of electricitysoldering and d
G. Also a former college instructor, Slone spends much of his time working in his state-of-the-art home electronics laboratory. . Randy Slone is an electrical engineer with nearly two decades of experience in data processing and industrial electronics. . Deane, Library Assistant at the Emporia Public Library, Kansas. In this thorough hobbyist's guide, electrical engineer Slone provides a sound overview of the basic theoretical concepts necessary to successfully build, maintain, or repair electronics. With 25 projects for readers to try, this is useful as a basic learning tool and an essential reference. In addition, he addresses practical applications such as how to build a workbench, how to solder, and how to create a parts and materials inventory through salvaging. . by James K
