Worth checking out. I took my time with this collection: I read only a few poems at a time, finished a novel, then came back for more. And it was a great way to go about reading it; this is a great book to pick up and "dip into" from time to time.The poems in this collection are like the northeastern winter they so often reference: they can evoke the biting cold of a deep breath of icy air, but they can also make you feel the soft, muffled warmth that comes from burrowing into your blankets as deep as you can and waiting out the worst of it. Russlemann Pritt's doesn't have a vast range, but his voice is unique, and he really, really breaks a lot of ground with confession by using it's tone to navigate metaphysically rather than auto-biographically.
