DESCRIPTION:
Peter Lovesey is the author of eleven mysteries in the beloved Peter Diamond series and eight in the Sergeant Cribb series. He lives in Chichester, England. He has won the CWA's Silver, Gold and Diamond Daggers, along with numerous US honors.
Pop diva, Clarion Calhoun, has packed the house with a celebrity appearance in Bath's Theatre Royal production of I Am a Camera. But within moments of her much-anticipated onstage appearance, she's pulled out of character as she screams and claws at her face. When tainted stage makeup is found to have caused the disfiguring burn, fingers point to her makeup artist. Detective Peter Diamond investigates when the makeup artist is found dead, pushed from a catwalk far above the stage. As Diamond digs deeper, he uncovers rivalries among the cast and crew and is forced to confront his own mysterious and deep-seated theatre phobia to find the killer.
In my scale of output, that’s about five weeks. I've made my children and grandchildren take a blood oath to that effect. Was she with you when you came to Kentucky? I'm usually out there by myself doing the old dog and pony show. Where? In my office in the garden. I try to write two pages a day, but often I write more. I wouldn’t like you to see the clutter inside, though. Thanks, Sue, for your encouragement and for being an inspiration to so many of us.Sue: I thought there was a fourth Brit in that road show, but I'd forgotten about Paula. No clue what W and Y will be. In preparation for the move, I redid 455 research files in color coordinared folders, segregated
Trickery in the Bath Theatre, and then it turns into murder!!! J Powell Read Peter Lovesey 35 years ago, Sgt Cribb set in Victoria's time,, and now discovered this whole new detective series in modern time. Quickly got all of them and this was first I read. Complex little tale of murder, disfigurement, and lots of lies and mystery in this little Bath UK . Fan of Series, but Disappointed in Ending I'm a fan of the Detective Diamond books. Good characters, setting, and an intriguing story. Though, I was disappointed in the ending/resolution - seemed a bit far fetched. Not one of my favorites, but still a fan of the series.. Five Stars Another wonderful Peter Diamond mystery!
