The only problem comes when Hobbs veers too far from his story to lecture on the nature of Arctic climate change and its growing effect on the environment and the people who live there.-Erik Knapp, Davis Library, Plano, TX(c) Copyright 2011. Amazon Customer said Can't believe this is a Maude Heart nominee. Spoilers included!I was very surprised at the graphic content this book contains. In one scene, the man eating grolar bear (half grizzly, half polar) stands on its hind legs with a camper's arm in its mouth and charges the two main characters. I won't say when or where this happens, only that this disturbing scene happens sometime before the end of the book. On account of this and other encounters with the bear, I'm forced to give what should be a four star nature book three stars, along with a graphic content warning.. Nick thinks the whole idea is crazy and there are no great herds any more. Jonah, Ni. "Outdoor Adventure and Environmentalism" according to J. Grambo.
